On Tuesday evening, the historic premises of the New Town Hall in Prague 2 hosted the ceremonial evaluation of the first edition of the Entrepreneur of Prague 2 award. The absolute winner of the poll, in which citizens nominated more than 100 businesses and establishments, and the recipient of the Entrepreneur of Prague 2 Award for 2025, was the original boutique "Crashily" on Ječná Street, which also received the most votes in its category, Retail.

Improving the business environment is among the long-term priorities of Prague 2, which systematically supports the development of small businesses and the creation of new services and premises. Thanks to its approach, the district hall was awarded the title of Friendly Office 2025 last year, and it also holds the title of City for Business of the Decade. “We owe it to small businesses and sole traders that Prague 2 ranks among the attractive and vibrant districts. With their enterprise, diligence, and personal commitment, they contribute significantly to the development of the local economy and the quality of life of our residents,” said Jan Korseska, Mayor of Prague 2.

The poll took place in two rounds. Citizens first nominated businesses electronically, and then could vote in four categories: Restaurants, Cafés and Bakeries, Services, and Retail. “Businesses are the heart of our district, and therefore they deserve a big thank you for their work. I am glad that the Entrepreneur of Prague 2 poll engaged so many citizens and introduced a number of quality businesses. Furthermore, the winners of the poll have shown that they can win the trust and support of our residents. With its original concept, Crashily inspires others and proves that even small businesses can succeed,” said Tomáš Halva, the project initiator and Prague 2 councillor, who is in charge of business support.

Support for the business environment also includes regular meetings, themed workshops, and professional discussions that the town hall, together with its partners, offers to entrepreneurs. These events are held for selected groups of businesses on specific topics — ranging from legislative changes to marketing strategies and the digitisation of services — and are focused on sharing experiences, networking, and practical advice.

The business environment in Prague 2 is diverse: it is home to companies in the fields of commerce, gastronomy, and creative services. Prague 2 is also attractive for small professional studios and start-up projects, which benefit from the attractive location and the availability of a skilled workforce. A total of 48,926 entrepreneurs are registered here, and 57,204 trade licences have been issued.
