Course Content:

• Participants will learn about key developmental stages of children and adolescents, such as early childhood, preschool age, school age and adolescence.

• Discussion on how children's behaviour and psychological needs change during these periods.

• Through practical demonstrations, we will get acquainted with the most common behavioural difficulties in children and adolescents and appropriate responses from adults.

• The course includes a presentation of common psychological problems that children and adolescents may encounter, such as anxiety, depression, aggression, self-harm or socialization problems.

• The course will emphasise how adults can effectively respond to children's difficulties. This includes techniques of active listening, empathy and offering appropriate support.

• Participants will learn how to create a safe environment for children that allows them to share their feelings and concerns.

• Discussion on how adults can serve as positive role models and support providers in the lives of children and adolescents.

• Study of situations where professional help is needed and how to secure it effectively.
