PhDr. Václav Mertin has more than 45 years of experience in pedagogical-psychological counselling and was a lecturer at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague for more than 30 years, where he focused on pedagogical, school and counselling psychology.

His expertise lies in psychology in education, particularly the individualisation of the educational approach to children, learning and behavioural disorders, entry into school, homeschooling, and parenting counselling. He is the author of numerous professional and popular publications.

1. Philosophy of education without punishment: What education without punishment means and what its values are. Alternative approaches to discipline.

2. Consequences of punishment: How punishment can affect children's psychology and behaviour, and why it is recommended to seek alternative methods.

3. Productive communication: How open and honest communication helps to resolve problems and conflicts. Creating an empathetic environment.

4. Educational discipline: how to implement the principles of consistency, respect, and positive motivation into everyday life.

5. Practical techniques: Ideas for various techniques, such as "time-out", positive reinforcement, and joint decision-making, so that children feel responsible for their behaviour.
