Psychotherapeutic Counselling

As a therapist, I undertake to provide psychological counselling to a minor client (hereinafter "the client") upon the request of their legal guardian, based on a pre-arranged agreement. Care for the client is determined based on mutual agreement among all parties involved,

namely the client, the legal guardians, and the therapist, with a view to the client's best interests. We recommend that the initial assessment of clients under 14 years of age be attended by the parents alone, without the child, to establish the therapeutic approach and goal of therapy with the therapist.

Confidentiality

The therapist is obliged to maintain confidentiality regarding all information learned during therapy. Information obtained during sessions is not provided to any third party without the client's consent. Exceptions include protecting the client or another person from imminent danger, or when required by law. Confidentiality does not apply to these situations – some are regulated by the Criminal Code (especially Sections 167 and 168), others are a matter of the therapist's conscience and ethics:

1. If the therapist has good reason to believe that the client intends to harm themselves, they will take necessary steps to protect the client's health/life. The therapist undertakes to do so only after exhausting all other options for the client to take steps towards their own safety.

2. If the therapist has good reason to believe that abuse or neglect of a child or a particularly vulnerable adult is occurring, or if the therapist receives indication that another person is engaging in this behaviour, the therapist has a legal duty to take steps to stop this behaviour. The therapist must inform the police, the Child Welfare Authority (OSPOD), etc.

3. If the therapist has good reason to believe that the client intends to harm another person, they will make every effort to ensure safety for that person (e.g. by contacting the police).

Conflict situations

The client must not record the therapist (audio or video) without the therapist's prior consent. These rules serve to protect privacy and the confidentiality of the therapeutic process. In the event that an already existing mental illness or issue becomes apparent during the course of therapy, the service provider reserves the right to inform the client of other care options or redirect them to another specialist.

Appointments

Appointments take place in person at Vinohradská 22, Prague 2. However, if the client feels that an online session is more suitable, this is possible by arrangement with the therapist.

The therapy session lasts 50 minutes.

The client has the option to cancel the appointment at least 48 hours before the therapy session.

Otherwise, the Centre reserves the right to charge a 100% cancellation fee.

Therapy can be cancelled via the telephone number +420 777 719 801 or via email at recepceostrava@elpira.cz.

The advance invoice for therapy must be paid at least 72 hours prior to the appointment. In the event of non-payment, the therapy will not take place.

Termination of cooperation

Under standard circumstances, the termination of cooperation is the result of a joint discussion with both the client and the legal guardian regarding the achievement of the set goals. Therapy is voluntary; therefore, the client has the right to terminate therapy at any time. The therapist may also terminate the therapy for necessary reasons, which will be explained to you. In the event that you are not satisfied with how the sessions are going, we ask the client for feedback.

Agreement to terms

By reading and understanding the above information, you also express agreement with the therapy conditions, and the client undertakes to comply with them.

Data Protection: The client's personal data is processed in accordance with the GDPR directive. By consenting to this informed consent, the client grants permission to process their personal data in compliance with this directive.
